Ready to get started?
Here are a few of the most important things to get you up and running and help you be successful whether you work with me or not.
Define your goals
What’s the purpose of your project? Is it to put a professional face on your organization, are leads the primary focus, or is there another focus. Just knowing specifically what goal you’re wanting to accomplish actually goes a long way.
Start looking at designs
Figure out what you like in terms of design (or let me do it for you)! I often send prospective clients without clear design goals to The Best Designs to pick out three to five sites they like. If I can get a peek at a few sites you like (ideally from a gallery that has some really good work), then that will help us to your design as quickly as possible.
Gather a photo library
If we have 10-20 go-to photos we can use in generalized contexts (background images, etc.), that’s a huge leg up for design, since that lets us build more interesting, visual layouts.
Outline your content
Don’t go for something complex, and major on the majors – if you start with the basic pages, then get a general idea of what you’re aimed toward, that’s usually enough to get started.
